One of our travel experts was lucky enough to experience Singita Lebombo Lodge firsthand and was pleased to provide an account of his stay. The luxurious lodge is located in one of South Africa’s most famous national parks, Kruger National Park and is one of the finest and most ultra-luxurious lodges. Although situated in Kruger National Park, it is within a private concession . The concession is 33,000 acres, so guests won’t see many other game-drive vehicles, providing  exclusivity and privacy. The lodge is suspended in a magical setting high above the N’wanetsi River on the side of a cliff with fantastic views; while also blending in with the natural surroundings.

Singita also has another lodge inside Kruger National Park – Singita Sweni Lodge.

How to get there and location

Situated not far from the center of the world-renowned Kruger National Park, accessibility is easy with scheduled daily commercial direct flights into Skukuza Airport and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. These operate from either Cape Town or Johannesburg. From Johannesburg there are also direct light aircraft flights into the local airstrip, Satara, which is 45 minutes from the lodge. From this airstrip, Singita staff will meet and greet guests and then transfer them straight to their home in the bush.

Accommodation

The main public areas feature a roof terrace, multimedia room, library, interactive kitchen, espresso bar and an all-day ‘bar-deli’.  There is a wellness center and an in-house spa, which we highly recommend visiting to round out the perfect safari experience.  Visitors can also visit the gym in between safari activities. For any retail therapy, stop by the well-stocked  shop that stocks a variety of handmade and local crafts.

Expansive views in a magical setting - that is Singita Lebombo Lodge

The lodge boasts  13 contemporary glass-walled, spacious one-bedroom suites and 2 x two-bedroom suites (which can accommodate up to 4 adults and has a private swimming pool). Families can also book the latter together for an opulent, breathtaking private villa experience that also has its own pool. All of the suites offer complete privacy, with each one overlooking a different view of the nearby river.

Room amenities include indoor and outdoor showers, separate lounge areas, and comfortable outdoor day beds. There is the highest quality Egyptian cotton linen, with designer mosquito nets romantically draped over the large king-size beds.

There are a myriad of exciting activities at Singita Lebombo Lodge and these will include daily game drives with highly-skilled and professional guides and trackers with decades of experience that provide the perfect opportunity to get up close to Africa’s incredible animals.  Together, the guide and tracker make a great team. They really have great knowledge and provide insight into all animals, big and small, and enriched our team member’s understanding of the animals’ behavior.
